The Daily Moth is a new ASL radio show, delivers news in video using American Sign Language. The Deaf host, Alex Abenchuchan, covers trending news stories and Deaf topics with a twist of humor and Deaf culture. Abenchuchan is a Deaf individual who was born into a large Deaf family and “overcame” deafness through vigorous signing and rapt attention to the animated signs of other people around him. He went to the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind and is an alumni of Gallaudet University with a degree in Religious Studies, he's now resident in Austin, Texas.
The Daily Moth, why moth? Deaf people have a tendency to always gather underneath the light or in the kitchen. Deaf people love light for better visuals, for the sighted, for the Deaf-Blind, they might still need the light because that's where the Deaf people are. Moths are also Deaf! For real, just like us. That's how the name, The Daily Moth, came to be. Let's get this thing up and flying, like a moth!

Abenchuchan likes moths, but can be startled by them, especially if they fly in his face when he’s near a light bulb. He’s currently metamorphosing into a moth, but the process could take years. Watch new video daily, The Daily Moth Channel.
