AUSTIN, TX -- The Convo VRS company provides the Deaf community REAL sign language interpreting of the Nelson Mandela memorial at realinterpreter.com.An incident occurred during the memorial service in which a man, now dubbed the “#fakeinterpreter”, stood next to speakers and interpreted the entire event in sign language.
However, none of his signing was legitimate and the Deaf community was not given accessibility to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela. This site is our way of honoring him while bringing language accessibility to the Deaf community all over the world, just what Mandela would have wanted.

Nelson Mandela was honored by loved ones, world leaders, and thousands South Africans in a memorial service on December 9th, 2013. Mandela was a one-of-a-kind human being who devoted his life to ending racism, poverty, and inequality. Nelson Mandela's legacy lives on.
