Rapper Waka Flocka thought Holly Maniatty the sign language interpreter was dancing and starts dancing with her.
ASL terp steals the show at rap concerts, Holly Maniatty is best known for her sign language interpreting at large festivals for rappers like Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
Maniatty is a certified ASL interpreter from Newport, Vermont and having attended Rochester Institute of Technology also known for a love a music, specifically Rap and Hip Hop, she is incredibly proficient at American Sign Language, despite having only learned it while she attended RIT for the a degree in ASL which helped make her an expert signer for music performances with lots of lyrical content.
Maniatty working it for Snoop and an older performance by The Wu-Tang Clan, she found recognition for rap interpreting at a Killer Mike set at Bonnaroo music festival when Killer Mike saw her and noticed how well ASL works with rap.
Maniatty had been initially employed however as an interpreter for a Marilyn Manson concert in Rochester after all her coworkers passed on the opportunity, eventually opening the door for her to be recruited by a company out of Portland, Maine that specialized in festival ASL interpreting. By this point she was beginning to work with musicians the likes of U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Saget, and eventually The Beastie Boys at Bonnaroo in 2009, which lead to her becoming a main-stay interpreter for the rap community.

Woman Pretends To Be Deaf To Reject The Guys
Asian woman pretends to be Deaf to reject the guys trying it on with her on a night out goes viral on social media.
It seems one girl has finally had enough of the long process involved in rejecting guys on a night out.
When a young woman is approached by a stranger in a club, she starts using "sign language" in order to pretend to be Deaf. It appears she thought this would be a way to reject his advances, and it worked!
What should be a simple ‘Sorry, I’m not interested’ often turns into a lengthy attempt of explaining you either have a boyfriend, are engaged or even that you swing the other way.
Sometimes it’s because the guy interested in you is incredibly persistent but often it’s just because – in definite British fashion – we’re just too damn polite and scared of hurting someone’s feelings.
But this girl, however, is sick and tired of being polite and making excuses. So, she’s opted for for another way to reject their fellow clubber.
In a video posted to Imgur by user Tausif007, a girl can be seen turning a guy away with the use of sign language.
A brave move, but one that most definitely worked.
But it turns out, she didn’t actually sign anything – she simply waved her hands around.
One Reddit user commented: ‘I am a teacher for the Deaf and she did not sign a single American Sign Language. She would have been embarrassed if I signed back.’
So perhaps in future, it’d be best to learn the sign language before somebody does actually begin to sign back. Owned!

Deaf Mom Dances With Hearing Son Goes Viral
Interview with Deaf mom and hearing son connect through their language of dance.
Mark Villaver has danced behind some impressive celebrities like Usher Terry Raymond. But he's never looked better on the dance floor than in this video, where he and his mom throw down some super smooth moves to Usher. Mark's mom is Deaf, but judging by her flow, she has no problem finding her groove.
In the introduction to the video, uploaded to YouTube in mid-October, Mark asks his mom in sign language if she'd like to dance. She signs back, visibly excited, "Yeah!" prompting a dance routine which will absolutely knock your socks off.
Mark Villaver doesn't sign but he and his Deaf mom, Emilia, can always connect through dance. Deaf and Hearing Network sat down with Mark in California and his mom in Hawaii to discuss their love of dance and why they went viral.
