HOLLYWOOD -- The YouTube series of star-studded cemeteries produced by Arthur Dark are becoming must-see tombstone tourism.

It was almost like Arthur Dark was born for this.

He’s got the voice, the passion, video editing chops, research skills, the look - and the vocabulary that lends to entertaining (and respectful) YouTube tours of notable graveyards around Los Angeles and the country.

"The curtain is drawn, the credits have rolled -- Still the stars burn ever brightly."

Filmmaker Arthur Dark and composer Giusppe Vasapolli take you on a journey of remembrance in their Famous Grave Tour videos.

Amassing over 100,000 subscribers since it’s debut in 2017, Dark’s Hollywood Graveyard channel is one of the most popular series of its type online.

We had a chance to ask him about our local cemeteries, the diversity of sizes and styles of celebrity gravestones, and what’s the deal with unmarked graves.

What got you interested in documenting graveyards on YouTube?

It was a combination of many things: combined interests in entertainment, Hollywood history and a dash of the macabre.

Initially, I just found visiting famous graves myself fascinating, being able to connect with and pay my respects to individuals whose work I knew and loved. And in connecting with individuals I already knew, I would be introduced to new ones along the way, introduced to them, and their work - movies, TV shows, music, writings, etc., opening me up to an as-of-yet untapped mine of entertainment. I was delving much deeper into the history of Hollywood and entertainment, and in doing so, broadening my own horizons, so to speak.

These were experiences I was sure others would enjoy, and appreciate, but it’s not always easy (or possible) to find famous graves. So I sought to find ways to make tombstone tourism more accessible, make it less intimidating, easier to find the graves of these notable individuals, or if not possible to visit them in person, allow audiences to visit them “virtually” through video tours. TV Producer Arrested For Murder Of Deaf Sister

Talk-Show producer arrested in connection with death of Deaf, partially blind sister.

LOS ANGELES -- Television producer Jill Blackstone was released from custody Wednesday after her arrest in connection to the death of her Deaf, partially blind sister, authorities said.

About 12:40 p.m. Saturday, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to a home in the 12000 block of Landale Street in Studio City, said Los Angeles police Lt. Bob Toledo.

Blackstone’s sister Wendy Blackstone, 49, was found unconscious in an enclosed garage where carbon monoxide had filled the room, Toledo said. A dead animal also was found in the garage.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate Wendy Blackstone, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of her death has not been determined pending further investigation, including toxicology tests, according to the coroner’s office.

Jill Blackstone, 52, was arrested Monday night on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to arrest records.

A suicide note recovered at the home was believed to have been penned by Jill Blackstone, not her late sister, according to the website TMZ, which first reported the arrest.

Blackstone was released from custody about 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to jail records. Prosecutors have not filed charges against her, Toledo said.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office did not respond to an after-hours request for comment. Jill Blackstone also did not immediately respond to several requests for comment.

She has produced numerous television shows, including the “Rosie O’Donnell Show” and the “Sally Jessy Raphael Show,” according to her personal website. She also produced a 1993 episode of “The Jerry Springer Show,” according to the Internet Movie Database.

NEW YORK CITY -- Deaf actress Marlee Matlin is criticizing Saturday Night Live for the NBC show's recent Deaf signing sketch, which spoofed New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's sign language interpreter Lydia Callis and her animated signing during the Hurricane Sandy press conferences as on Lydia Callis: Bloomberg's interpreter goes viral.

"I don't mind fun poked at me, as I poke back," the Dancing with the Stars alum tweeted Sunday. "But at the language, that millions use? It feels childish and insulting."

Taylor Swift Donates To Deaf School After Online Prank

Taylor Swift donates concert tickets and $10,000 to Deaf students after give-away prank.

BOSTON, Massachusetts -- Taylor Swift is giving $10,000 and concert tickets to a Boston school for the Deaf after a prank involving an online contest promising an on-campus performance by the Grammy-winning singer.

Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Boston was disqualified from the contest because many of the votes were from Internet pranksters who thought it would be funny for a school for the Deaf to win tickets to a live concert.

The Boston Globe reports that instead, Swift and contest sponsors will donate a combined $50,000 to the school, and U.S. cable channel VH1’s Save the Music program will donate $10,000 in musical instruments... Read The Full Story.
