Nyle DiMarco Is Joining 'Dancing With The Stars'

America's Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco is joining 'Dancing with the Stars' will be on March 21 at 8pm on ABC.

LOS ANGELES -- America's Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco is trading his smize for dancing shoes: the 26-year-old model/actor/Deaf activist will compete on season 22 of Dancing With the Stars, a source tells E! News exclusively.

Sources confirm that the most recent champion of Tyra Banks' modeling competition is heading to the DWTS ballroom, where he'll be joining rumored fellow cast member Jodie Sweetin on the series which our insiders have also confirmed, and will be the second-ever Deaf contestant on the show.

Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin competed on the series in 2008, coming in seventh place with partner Fabian Sanchez during the ABC reality hit's sixth season. Figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi eventually took home the Mirrorball Trophy that year.

The new cast will dance in the footsteps of 17-year-old Bindi Irwin, who took home the trophy with six-time champion Derek Hough, beating out Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, soldier Alek Skarlatos and Grease Live star Carlos PenaVega.

ABC declined to comment on the casting report, but the official cast announcement will be made on Good Morning America on March 8, ahead of season 22's March 21 premiere.

One certainty for next season: We won't be seeing Julianne Hough anymore. The pro-turned-judge is stepping away from the series after two years at the judges' table, she confirmed on Feb. 17, but there's good news too: Len Goodman, who left for a season to spend time with his newborn grandson (and continue judging on the original British series, Strictly Come Dancing), is coming back.

DWTS season 22 debuts Monday, March 21 at 8 p.m. on ABC - SOURCE - EONLINE

LOS ANGELES -- Entertainment Tonight: The judges have deliberated, and America's next top model is… Nyle DiMarco!

The 26-year-old model becomes the second male winner of the series - following Keith Carlos, who won cycle 21 - and the only Deaf contestant to compete on the reality competition show. He’s also the final model to land on top after creator and host Tyra Banks announced the series’ cancellation midway through the cycle.

From the beginning of cycle 22, the judges - Banks, Kelly Cutrone, and J. Alexander -- and other contestants made a big deal about his hearing, but being Deaf didn’t seem to be a disadvantage. In fact, DiMarco said it helped him in the competition.

“The biggest advantage of me being Deaf is that my language requires me to move my body,” DiMarco told Entertainment Tonight in September, “so it's easy for me to show movement in my body and brings the best of me in photographs.”

DiMarco quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his washboard abs, piercing blue eyes and charming persona. But he also delivered fierce photos each week, winning two elimination challenges and only landing in the bottom two once.

While the competition itself may be over, DiMarco’s career is just beginning. The budding model told Entertainment Tonight that he hopes to become the next male supermodel and to create an equal space for men in the modeling world.

“America's Next Top Model changed my life because I am more aware of the modeling world and I have a great network now,” he said of the experience, adding: “I have even more fans than I did before.”

Nyle DiMarco Comes Out As Sexually Fluid

'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 22, hunk Nyle DiMarco comes out as sexually fluid.

LOS ANGELES -- Huffpost Gay Voices' reporter, Nicholas Kusnir was lucky enough to have the chance to quickly interview "America's Next Top Model" contestant Nyle DiMarco at the DeaFestival LA Fashion Show, 2015, where he discussed the benefits of growing up Deaf, being an icon within the gay community, and even opens up about being Sexually Fluid himself.

'ANTM' contestant Nyle DiMarco came out as sexually fluid to his Twitter followers last week. The 26-year-old heartthrob, who is the first Deaf contestant on the show, made the revelation in response to a Sept. 24 question from a fan who asked if he was gay or straight.

DiMarco, who is a native of Queens, New York, included a link to an Everyday Feminism article about identifying as sexually fluid. The article notes that people who are sexually fluid are "either always attracted to more than one gender," or "feel that their attraction may shift depending on factors like time, intimacy with certain partners, changes in hormone levels, and so forth."

Needless to say, several of DiMarco's male fans responded excitedly to his tweet.

LAS VEGAS -- On Friday's episode of America's Next Top Model, it was the contestants' first week in Las Vegas. For their challenge, they had to fiercely pose midair while simultaneously falling into a pool, working some Sin City-related prop, and show off the garment. (The standard for any of today's fashion icons.) And instead of the weekly photo shoot, the model hopefuls had to tooch and smize for a music video promoting show matriarch Tyra Banks's own line of cosmetics, Tyra Beauty.

ANTM Cycle 22, Episode 10 "The Girl Who Became Bootyful" Nyle DiMarco.

The name of the song: "BOOTYful." Like beautiful. Because duh. And of course, Tyra herself would be in the music video along with the final seven, doing most of the lip-syncing. For fans of Tyra's voice in "Be A Star" from the critically acclaimed Life-Size starring the supermodel as a doll that comes alive, they'll be disappointed to find out that for this music video a musical artist by the name of Stori would be supplying the vocals.

While it’s easy to brush off America's Next Top Model in its 22nd cycle, there’s one very hunky reason to still watch: Nyle DiMarco.

In fact, this cycle has been fun to watch as the guys an addition to the competition in cycle 20 have been bringing the drama, as well as the sex appeal.

Nyle DiMarco is one the show’s leading contestants, standing at 6’2” with piercing blue eyes and washboard abs. He also happens to be Deaf, which Tyra Banks and others initially thought of as a possible hindrance.

But over the course of the competition, the 26-year-old model has shown that it’s actually a benefit. DiMarco tells ET that reading body language comes naturally to him, helping him understand how to pose with his body.

The cycle 22 breakout sat down with ET to talk about embracing fame.

He can also shut out all the unending fights that take place in the house each week. “Fortunately, I'm Deaf, so I don't have to hear all of their drama,” says DiMarco, staying above the fray that often comes back to Banks’ Ty-Overs. “I just want to say that you all are complaining about hair, hair, hair. Am I complaining about my deafness? No, I am not.”

When it comes to his best assets, Banks and fellow judge (and PR maven) Kelly Cutrone have taken notice of his abs and waist, often asking him to remove his shirt during panel. Top Models Learn ASL For Deaf Contestant

The 'America's Next Top Model' contestants learn American Sign Language for Deaf contestant.

Entertainment Tonight shares footage clip of the 'America's Next Top Model' is teaching the remaining models ASL in order to communicate with Deaf contestant Nyle DiMarco. "American Sign Language requires a lot of facial and body expression," he says. "The way Deaf people communicate is naturally very expressive and shows a lot of emotion." says DiMarco.

About America’s Next Top Model - Cycle 22 of America’s Next Top Model, hosted by Tyra Banks, will feature the third “Guys and Girls” edition. Selected men and women living under one roof will battle it out to earn the prestigious title of America’s Next Top Model.

WATCH [ASL/CC] - America's Next Top Model's first ever Deaf contestant on why he refuses to let his disability hold him back.

LOS ANGELES -- A model who is set to become the first ever Deaf person to compete in hit reality series America's Next Top Model has revealed why he refuses to let his disability stop him from reaching the top of the fashion industry.

Nyle DiMarco, 25, is set to feature on the upcoming 22nd season of the hit CW series, which was created by supermodel Tyra Banks. But while some might believe he is at a disadvantage when compared with his co-stars, the Washington-based model insists that his disability actually makes him all the more unique.

'I strongly believe that being Deaf gives me a huge advantage because of my native language, American Sign Language' Nyle revealed to Washington Life.

'ASL requires the use of facial expressions and body language expressions. With the rules of ASL immersed into my soul, it helps to bring out stories when I'm modeling for a photo, and makes for an interesting character when I'm acting.'

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, the fact that Nyle is Deaf certainly isn't the first thing that people notice about the budding model, who was contacted by the producers of America's Next Top Model after they saw him guest-starring in hit sitcom ‘Switched at Birth’.

'The show found me through my accounts on social media and models.com, which is where I showcase my work,' Nyle explained.

'Honestly, America's Next Top Model wasn’t something that I had ever really thought about doing before but when I spoke with casting, I thought, “why not!” The rest is history.'

While Nyle is unable to reveal how the show, which he has been busy filming for a number of weeks now, has been going, he hopes that his appearance in the series, no matter how far he ends up going, will help to inspire other Deaf people to pursue their dreams... Read The Full Story.
