Daughter Signs Rock Lyrics To Deaf Dad

Canadian daughter signs song lyrics for her Deaf dad at rock concert goes viral on social media.

EDMONTON, Alberta -- A video of a teen daughter using American Sign Language to communicate the lyrics of a rock song to her dad has touched millions.

Karri Carberry, 19, signed the Three Days Grace song "Just Like You" to her father, Darrin Carberry, at the band's concert in Canada on Dec. 12. Carberry is Hearing, but her dad is Deaf, she told "Good Morning America."

"It was our first concert together," said Carberry of Edmonton, Alberta. "I feel absolutely shocked and amazed at all of the views and responses we have been getting! It’s an amazing feeling and we’re both very happy that everyone around the world is enjoying it so much."

As Carberry and her dad rocked out, fellow concertgoer Julianne Cragg captured the moment.

Cragg shared the video on Facebook, where it's been viewed 17 million times. Cragg told "GMA" that at first, she wasn't intentionally filming the father-daughter duo, but that she was glad she caught it on camera.

"I'm thrilled that it's made a few people happy," Cragg said.

Three Days Grace even commented on the video, writing on Facebook, "This is the coolest thing on the internet right now!!! so sweet."

“I sing to encourage other people; that’s what makes me happy,” she told the BBC in its feature on her. “My passion, the whole reason why I sing, is so that I can say, ‘Hey, this is what I’ve done; I really hope that I can encourage you to do the same.’”

Deaf Couples Wedding ASL Song 'Chicken Fried'

WATCH [CC] - Song 'Chicken Fried' in American Sign Language for Deaf couples wedding video going viral on social media in Deaf community.

American Sign Language entertainer, Brian Guendling would like to congratulate Alejandro and Nicole on a beautiful wedding. Guendling was the guest entertainers for the night as performed a 3 song performance. Just because Alejandro and Nicole are Deaf, he believe they can enjoy music just like everybody else in a very entertaining way. He met with the family before the wedding and the bride mentioned how it was a country themed wedding.

Most of you know, Brian Guendling was born and raised in San Diego his whole life so he had to go out and buy his first pair of cowboy boots and a country hat, and couples picked the songs they wanted him to perform. He would like to thank Rob Rowland And Blue Lens Productions for another fantastic video with subtitles.

Guendling have teamed up with his Deaf friend by the name of DC Davis. DC was born and raised in Waco, Texas. He turned Deaf at the age of 2 due to high fever that burst both eardrums. He’s known sign language all his life and loves sports. He comes from a family that was involved with music especially in church. He started signing songs in his church when he was younger and its been his favorite thing to do since then.

DC memorizes music a little differently than most people do. He feels the beat and reads the lyrics off a paper over and over. Just because he’s Deaf, he still can enjoy music just like everybody else. He moved to Austin in 1999 with his family where he was a 3 sport athlete at Texas School for the Deaf. He played basketball, football, and ran track.

They want to show their audiences that the Deaf and Hearing cultures can work together. As you all know, The last sign language video, Guendling posted was 6 months ago. In the last 6 months he received a lot of messages from people asking if he was still continuing the sign language. Guendling felt like if he wanted to continue this passion of his needed to get his fluency up and get a lot more educated.

Guendling ever took was his senior year of high school which was 4 years ago. All the sign language he learned was from associating himself around Deaf Culture and hanging out with many of his Deaf friends. So he decided it was time to take it to the next level.

Guendling acquired many Deaf friends to sit down and help him with his fluency. After 4 months he had learned a lot. But, Guendling decided he needed to meet with a professional. He decided to move back to San Diego for 5 weeks where he met with a very highly professional American Sign Language coach by the name of Rebecca Coleman.

Rebecca has been teaching ASL for more then 10 years and absolutely changed his signing game. Video 3 will be posted next week!! Stay tuned! Thanks!

ASL Lyrics Interpretation Video Clip Goes Viral

Beautiful soul signing "U" by Gareth Emery to her Deaf friend at TomorrowWorld 2014 video clip goes viral.

ATLANTA, Georgia -- The American Sign Language (ASL) lyrics interpretation to her Deaf friend at the festivals which was on camera and posted a video clip on the internet that went viral by attention of the media.

In most ways, Keelin Lambert and Monica Frederick’s friendship is like any other. The former college roommates regularly go to dance music festivals and concerts, even as Keelin lives in San Diego and Monica in Chicago. Keelin brought Monica to her first rave at Electric Daisy Carnival in 2013 and the two became hooked on the scene, particularly on trance. The two met in Atlanta last month for TomorrowWorld and fully immersed themselves, even camping on-site during the three-day fest.

"The most beautiful thing I saw at TomorrowWorld 2014 hands down !! This lovely soul (Keelin) is signing "U" by Gareth Emery to her Deaf friend (Monica) on the right! It gives me chills every time I watch it!! I was so inspired that I couldn't help but cry! The Instagram clip I posted of this video has already touched the hearts of so many people.. Quite unexpectedly! And I'm glad! Way to go, ladies! You deserve every bit of love being sent your way!" -Sage Sappho

While Bryan Kearney played his remix of Gareth Emery “U” during his set on the TranceAddict stage, Keelin did what she often does for Monica during festivals: She translated the lyrics for her into American Sign Language.

Another fan, Sage Sappho, saw this and shot a short video and shared it on Instagram late last week. Emery saw it, shared it, and the video went viral. “If 15 seconds could ever sum up the spirit of electronic dance music, this would be it,” Emery captioned the video... Read The Full Story.

The video has been going viral... S-A-N-T-A: Adorable girl signs kindergarten holiday concert for Deaf parents.

CLEARWATER, Florida -- A "fake" sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela's memorial prompted one Deaf mom to show the world how it's really done.

Very entertaining video of a KODA (kid of deaf adults) enthusiastically singing holiday songs using sign language and animated facial expressions. Watch this and it would be the best 3:40 minutes you've spent in your day.

Lori Putney Koch of Clearwater, Fla., on Wednesday tweeted that her 5-year-old daughter, Claire, did a better job signing for her Deaf parents at a kindergarten holiday concert at Plumb Elementary School.

In the too-cute video posted on YouTube, Claire (in the middle, with the blonde hair) can be seen singing along with her classmates while signing in American Sign Language. Her animated facial expressions are just Claire being herself, her mom told TODAY Moms: "She is full of personality and spunk, that's the Claire we know."

The video also caught the eye of actress Marlee Matlin, who is Deaf.

Both Koch, who works as a business analyst at ZVRS, a video relay service company for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and her husband, Tom, who runs his own SCUBA business, were born Deaf. Claire and her sister, 2-year-old Charlotte, can hear, Koch said, but have been exposed to American Sign Language since birth. "It is our first language in our household," she told TODAY via email.

"Claire used sign language in the play because she was considerate of us and wanted us to understand the lyrics to the song," Koch said. "She was signing to her parents, looking right into my iPhone as she knew I was recording her. We don't use our daughter as an interpreter, but if there is something we missed, she would likely relay it to us."

Koch said there's a community of KODA, Kids of Deaf Adults (or CODA, Children of Deaf Adults), who are enthusiastically applauding Claire's lively performance.

Meanwhile, the interpreter at Nelson Mandela's funeral has told a Johannesburg newspaper that he was experiencing a schizophrenia episode during the funeral. His gibberish sign language outraged Deaf people around the world... Read The Full Story.
