Catholic Nun Helping Priests 'Rape' Deaf Kids

Nun arrested for physical abuse and for helping pedophilia priests to 'rape' dozens of Deaf kids at Catholic school in Pope's native country.

MENDOZA, Argentina -- A Roman Catholic nun from Japan has been arrested and charged on suspicion of helping priests sexually abuse children at a school for youths with hearing disabilities in Argentina, authorities said.

Kosaka Kumiko, 42, was charged with helping the priests with anal and vaginal rapes, fondling and oral sex , which were allegedly committed in the bathrooms, dormitories, garden and a basement at the school in Lujan de Cuyo, a city about 620 miles northwest of Buenos Aires.

'I am innocent,' she told judicial officials, who ordered her to be taken into custody at a local women's prison while detectives investigate the alleged crimes.

The nun, who has Argentine citizenship, has also been charged with physically abusing the students - whose torments could only be heard by those abusing them since the other children were Deaf - at the Antonio Provolo Institute for children with hearing impairment in northwestern Mendoza province. But she denied any wrongdoing during an eight-hour court hearing late Thursday.

She was shown being led by police in handcuffs, and wearing her habit and a bullet-proof vest.

The case against Kumiko began after a former student accused her of making her wear a diaper to cover up a hemorrhage after she was allegedly raped by priest Horacio Corbacho.

At least 24 students from the Provolo Institute of Mendoza have come forward to accuse Corbacho, fellow priest Nicola Corradi and three other men.

The children said the two Roman Catholic priests continuously raped them, beside the image of the Virgin Mary.

Police arrested the five accused men last November, finding a slew of pornographic magazines and about $34,000 in Corradi’s room.

'They always said it was a game: "Let’s go play, let’s go play" and they would take us to the girls’ bathroom,' one of the women who was abused at the Argentine school alleged.

Corradi and Corbachoi were arrested last year after they were charged with sexually abusing at least two dozen students at the Provolo Institute.

They are being held at a jail in Mendoza and have not spoken publicly since their arrest.

If found guilty, the accused face up to 50 years in prison. Corradi had earlier been accused in Italy of abusing students at the Provolo Institute in Verona, a notorious school for the Deaf where hundreds of children are believed to have been sexually assaulted over the years by two dozen priests and religious brothers.

Advocates for clerical sex abuse have expressed anger that Corradi wasn't sanctioned by the Vatican and allegedly went on to abuse children in Pope Francis' native Argentina.

Three school employees, Jorge Bordon, Jose Luis Ojeda and Armando Gomez, were also arrested and remain in custody.

Investigators are looking into more than 30 testimonies against the priests and teaching staff.

2009: Abuse at the Provolo Institute - which also has a branch in Italy - was first brought to light. Several students came forward and named and accused priests, including Corradi, who has been names again for abusing children in the Argentine Branch of the institute

2010: Vatican ordered its northern Italy branch - the Verona diocese - to investigate the claims

2012: the Vatican apologized and sent the results of the investigation to the victims. Four of the accused priests were sanctioned while a fifth was exempted because he had Alzheimers. The priests who were sanctioned were ordered to live a life of prayer and penance and were under supervision, away from children, the Associated Press reported in 2016

2014: The students penned a letter, naming Corradi - who was now in the Pope's native Argentina - but they received no response

2016: According to the Associated Press, a Vatican official said Pope Francis wanted to assure the victims that the church was taking steps to tackle the continuous sexual abuse. In December 2016, he used sign language while delivering his Christmas message, which fell on deaf years in Argentina as the controversy was unfolding.

UK Man Tried To Rape Deaf-Blind Grandmother

A burglar man, 25, who tried to rape Deaf and Blind 94-year-old grandmother after breaking into her home is caged for 14 years.

GRANTHAM, UK -- The Sun: A burglar who was caught in the act of trying to rape a Deaf-Blind 94-year-old woman has been jailed for 14 years.

Gregory Willis, 25, forced his way into the house where his victim was living out her final months with relatives - who found the sicko kneeling on her bed with no trousers on.

The great-grandmother, who was so frail she was unable to communicate, was naked from the waist down after Willis had pulled down her pyjamas and bedclothes.

She was only spared an even worse ordeal after members of her family discovered the front door open and went to investigate.

They checked on the victim and were horrified to discover Willis on her bed in Grantham, Lincs, last August.

Judge John Pini QC said as he sent dad-of-five Willis to jail: “The circumstances of this case are as deeply shocking, horrifying and appalling as could possibly be imagined.

“The victim is 94 years of age. She had not long before this left a nursing home to be cared for in a safe, loving environment for the remaining time of her life.

“She was registered blind, hard of hearing, had no short term memory, had poor balance and was doubly incontinent. She could not communicate.

“She was as frail and vulnerable as it is possible to be.”

The victim died four months after the break-in but a jury heard her death was not connected to the attempted rape.

Jonathan Straw, prosecuting, said it happened at a get together of relatives including the victim’s granddaughter and great grandchildren.

He said the old lady was asleep in her room while other family members chatted in a back room.

He told Lincoln crown court: “There came a point when they noticed that the front door to the house was open. Immediately they were concerned.

“They went into the living room and there they saw this defendant in the room. His trousers were removed. He had his boxer shorts on and his penis exposed.

“The victim was in bed, The covers had been pulled back and her pyjama bottoms had been pulled off.

“Had he not been disturbed, as mercifully he was, he was going to rape that 94-year-old lady in that bed.”

Willis was ordered out of the house but soon afterwards returned and knocked on the door saying something about visiting his aunt’s home.

The family called police and Willis was detained nearby. He had the key to the family’s car on him.

Willis denied attempted rape but was found guilty by the jury. He had earlier admitted burglary.

He said although he had no memory of what happened he would never have committed such an horrific offence.

Mark Watson, mitigating, said Willis apologised to the victim and her family for what he did.

He said: “He was plainly under the influence of something.

“There is nothing about the offence that he can remember. It may be due to alcohol but it may be that he is unable to bring himself to believe what happened.”

After the case, the victim’s son-in-law said the family now wanted to try to put the “horrific episode” behind them.

He said: “She was a very frail person asleep in bed who had already entered the end of life phase.

“We don’t know how much of what happened registered with her - we deliberately didn’t raise it with her afterwards and we just have to hope she didn’t suffer in any way.”

He added: “I was the only adult male in the house at the time and when I confronted him the adrenaline took over and I didn’t initially appreciate what was happening.

“Thankfully he ran away without becoming violent and it was only later that the gravity of what he was about to do hit me.”

Deaf Woman Allegedly Raped By Two Irish Men

Profoundly Deaf woman allegedly raped by two men in caravan through a social media site in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

BELFAST -- A profoundly Deaf woman was allegedly raped by two men in a caravan after arranging a meeting over social media, a court heard today.

Police claimed one of the pair had manipulated and coerced her into getting a taxi to the traveller site in west Belfast. The woman has also alleged her drink may have been spiked during the incident on the Glen Road early last Friday.

David Spence, 18, and Francis Gavin, 23, appeared before magistrates in the city accused of carrying out the sex attack. Both men deny charges of rape, insisting all contact with the woman in her thirties was consensual.

Spence, a trainee joiner from Ardcaoin Avenue in the Dunmurry area, was granted bail on conditions that include a ban on accessing computers. But Gavin, of Glen Road Heights in Belfast, remains in custody while checks are carried out on proposed addresses.

A judge was told the woman had been in contact with Spence through a social media site before a meeting was arranged. Describing her as vulnerable, an investigating detective said she made it clear that she was not interested in having sex at the encounter.

The officer claimed Spence had ignored requests to come to her house, instead arranging for a taxi to bring her to the Glen Road traveller encampment. Following the alleged attack he said she left the caravan and walked a quarter of a mile down a lane in the dark before reporting the incident at the first house with lights on.

Defence barrister Tom McCreanor, for Spence, put it to the officer that his client and the woman had "intimate and suggestive" social media exchanges before meeting.

The detective replied: "She does mention she likes sex. However, she is saying that's within a long-term relationship." Photographs were also sent between her and Spence, the court heard. Asked if the woman's vulnerability related to a hearing issue, the officer said: "This lady is profoundly Deaf."

He also claimed: "From the content of text messages there was bit of manipulation or coercion." But Mr McCreanor argued that his client had been in "consensual and encouraged communication" with the woman.

He told the court she willingly got a taxi to the caravan and was never prevented from leaving.

Granting bail for Spence to return to court in four weeks, District Judge Fiona Bagnall ordered him to live with his parents under curfew. He was banned from using mobile phones, computers and accessing social media sites, and must not go near either the alleged victim's home or the traveller site.

Gavin also faces unrelated charges of common assault, criminal damage to a window and possession of a knuckle duster over an incident on January 25.

Defence solicitor Eamon O'Connor stressed his client is not accused of making any of the arrangements to meet the alleged rape victim.

"He was at the site when the alleged injured party arrived," Mr O'Connor said. "He made the case in ten interviews that any contact between himself and this lady was entirely by consent."

During cross-examination the detective confirmed the woman claimed her drink may have been spiked. Forensic tests are still being carried out to establish if there is any substance to her concerns. But with police claiming Gavin has used six addresses in the last five years, his bail application was adjourned for further checks on where he might live if released.

For Gallaudet, a college for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the answer might simply be that campus officials speak sign language. As one Gallaudet offical told Emily Shire at The Daily Beast: “Our students are more likely to go somewhere on campus and report assault than go to a hospital because they have direct access to someone who speaks American Sign Language.”

Thanks to the 1990 Clery Act, colleges are required to report data on campus crime every year, including the number of incidents (or attempted incidents) of rape or sexual battery. But it’s pretty obvious that this number depends not only on the prevalence of sexual assault on campus, but also how diligently the college handles allegations of rape. As Nick Anderson reported recently, there are pending investigations at 89 colleges over how these schools dealt with reports of sexual violence.

A quick glance at the colleges with the most per-capita reports of sexual assault shows that they tend to be small, liberal arts colleges. It’s possible that Gallaudet, Grinnell, and Reed are the most sexually violent campuses in the nation, but it’s more plausible that these campuses have cultivated an environment where survivors feel more comfortable speaking out... NEW YORK CITY -- The silent woman receives rape threats after recording 10 hours of harassment in New York. Actor Shoshana B Roberts recorded all the catcalls and remarks she got from passersby as she walked for 10 hours through the street of New York City. An actor who recorded 10 hours of catcalls and remarks from passersby in New York City has received rape threats in response to a video detailing the harassment, the advocacy group that commissioned the video said on Tuesday.

In a two-minute video, actor Shoshana B Roberts was told to smile, told, “Somebody is acknowledging you for being beautiful, you should say thank you,” and comments were made about her clothes and appearance.

At one point in the video, which has been viewed nearly 10m times in fewer than 24 hours, a man walked alongside her silently for five minutes.

Another followed her, while offering to give her his number.

“The rape threats indicate that we are hitting a nerve,” Hollaback director Emily May told Newsday. “We want to do more than just hit a nerve though, we want New Yorkers to realize – once and for all – that street harassment isn’t OK, and that as a city we refuse to tolerate it.”

Hollaback!, an international group that has been fighting street harassment since 2005, said people were reporting threats to YouTube, where the video is hosted, and that the website was taking them down.

There were more than 100 instances of verbal street harassment recorded during the 10 hours. “This doesn’t include the countless winks, whistles, etc,” the video says.

Deaf Sex Predator Jailed For Probation Violation

Released sex predator straight back in jail for breaching his parole after he had posed online as a young woman.

CHRISTCHURCH, NZ -- An online sex predator has lasted just one week after his release from prison before ending up straight back in custody for contacting one of his victims by text message.

Cameron Stuart Hore, 30, was released on bail on October 22 but pleaded guilty to a charge of breaching his parole before Judge Murray Hunt in the Christchurch District Court today.

Judge Hunt remanded him to next Thursday for sentence on the breach charge, but in the meantime the Probation Service would be applying for his recall to prison anyway.

Craig Ruane appeared as defence counsel for today's appearance.

Hore was jailed for four years and one month on July 4, 2012, after being held for a long time in custody on remand on 12 charges which he eventually admitted.

He had posed online as a young woman named Sarah Ruddenklau - including posting a picture of a young woman - to carry out sexual exploitation of his young victims.

He was sentenced in the High Court on two charges of blackmail, two of obtaining credit by deception, and eight of sexual exploitation or attempted sexual exploitation.

Hore is Deaf and a sign language interpreters helped him in court today.

The victims were found after police seized Hore's computer after a complaint and analysed just one month of the the 9306 chat logs accumulated over 15 months from September 2009 to November 2010. Nine of the 14 victims traced from that month were willing to talk to the police.

Crown prosecutor Pip Currie said then it had been premeditated and planned offending using false identities to obtain personal details.

Deaf Girl Brutal Gang Raped In India

Deaf News: The four then allegedly raped the girl and when the girl became unconscious in India.

KOLKATA, India -- A 16-year-old Deaf and mute girl was allegedly gangraped and left to die at an auto rickshaw stand at Arbelia in village Tildanga under jurisdiction of Baduria police station area in North 24-Parganas district.

The girl has been hospitalised and is undergoing treatment at Baduria hospital. She was found in an unconscious state at the auto stand.

The police arrested four accused on Wednesday and produced them in court which remanded them to 14 days police custody.

The teenager, who is a resident of Deganga, had come to Tildanga with her mother to attend her maternal uncle’s marriage. From there they went to Borogobra village, where the marriage was supposed to take place. While the marriage ceremony was on, four persons - Ujjal Mondal, Asif Hossain, Iilias Mortaza alias Ibrahim and Azharuddin, teased the girl.

At this the girl’s family intervened and warned the four youths not to disturb the girl anymore. The family then came back to Tildanga from Borogobra after the marriage ceremony was over.

Sources said on Tuesday, while the reception of the marriage was on at Tildanga, the girl’s maternal uncle’s place, the youths who had come to attend the reception somehow managed to take the girl away to some secluded area.

The four then allegedly raped the girl and when the girl became unconscious, they left her at an auto rickshaw stand at a place called Arbelia in Tildanga.

Deaf Girl Brutal Raped By Trafficker

A couple who trafficked a 10-year-old girl to the UK who was repeatedly raped and kept as a domestic servant for nearly a decade.

MANCHESTER, United Kingdom -- Ilyas and Tallat Ashar brought the girl, who is Deaf, from Pakistan and kept her at their home in Eccles, Salford, where she slept in the cellar. Ilyas Ashar, 84, was also found guilty of 13 counts of raping the girl, now in her 20s, who was found in 2009. The couple will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on 23 October.

Tallat Ashar, 68, was found guilty of trafficking and benefit fraud at an earlier trial, as was her husband. This can now be reported after the lifting of reporting restrictions, following Ilyas Ashar's conviction for rape at a retrial.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was only found after trading standards officials visited their Cromwell Road home investigating allegations of illegal activity.

Deaf girl was found in the cellar, which was described as "sparse, cold and damp". Police said the girl cleaned and cooked at the house, and was taken to other houses belonging to the family to carry out domestic chores.

Details of the victim's ordeal only emerged after she was taught sign language, enabling her to be interviewed by police. Thousands of pounds in benefits were claimed in the victim's name and a number of bank accounts were set up using her details, police said.

The couple's daughter, Faaiza Ashar, 46, was also found guilty of benefit fraud at an earlier trial. Judge Peter Lakin warned Ilyas Ashar to expect a "substantial prison sentence". Ch Supt May Doyle, from Greater Manchester Police, described Ilyas Ashar as "pure evil"... Read The Full Story.
