Exclusive Interview: Meet Lucia and Jon Rogerson, parents of three-year-old Heath, who is Deaf from California.
FREMONT, California -- The film project by Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids #LEADK and partnership with the Nyle DiMarco Foundation. This is their story with english subtitles.
The medical system now aggressively encourages hearing parents not to use signed languages with their Deaf children and withhold information about American Sign Language in the U.S.
But this family boldly and bravely chose American Sign Language and English as the languages of their homes.

Deaf People Cross Multiple Divides at the Border
Deaf people cross multiple divides at the United States border.
NOGALES, AZ -- Seated at Taco Yaqui in Nogales, Sonora last Friday, Reggie Holmes of Tucson tried to order lunch from his Spanish-speaking waiter – a familiar challenge for any non-Spanish speaking Arizonan who crosses the border.
But for Holmes, a 31-year-old associate at Goodwill, the cross-cultural interaction is even more complex. He is Deaf, and uses sign language, lip-reading and writing as his primary forms of communication.
At first Holmes tried hand gestures with the waiter. But then he noticed the menu written on the wall and rushed over to it.
He pointed to the “chiles verdes” tacos and held up four fingers. The waiter understood and Holmes was soon digging into his lunch.
Holmes, who regularly crosses the border for dental visits, doesn’t just navigate the English-Spanish barrier in Mexico, but also the hearing-deaf divide. Even when he meets Deaf Mexicans, he must find creative ways to communicate because he uses American Sign Language (ASL), which employs different symbols and grammar than Mexican Sign Language (LSM by its Spanish acronym).
Most people have encountered situations, while traveling or otherwise, in which they’ve had to find creative ways to communicate. But according to University of Texas linguistics professor David Quinto-Pozos, who studies bilingual language acquisition as well as interaction between ASL and LSM speakers, Deaf people like Holmes are especially skilled at communicating past language barriers, or picking up the local language in border and other multilingual areas.
After all, he said, Deaf people already navigate and communicate in a world designed for those who hear. Read The Full Story - Nogales International.

SignAloud Glove Translates ASL Into English
The University of Washington students built a glove that translates American Sign Language into English.
SEATTLE, Washington -- Fast Company: A pair of undergraduates at the University of Washington made a glove that translates gestures in American Sign Language (ASL) into English and speaks it via speakers. The SignAloud glove won them a $10,000 Lemelson-MIT Student Prize and international attention. Now they're figuring out how to refine their gadget for social good...and make sure they pass their college exams.
The SignAloud glove captures ASL gestures with sensors that measure everything from XYZ coordinates to the way individual fingers flex or bend. That sensor data is sent via Bluetooth to a nearby computer and fed into coding algorithms that categorize the gestures, which are translated into English and then audibly spoken via speaker. But co-creator Navid Azodi emphasizes that SignAloud is still very much in a prototype phase.
"Keep in mind, we have by no means captured the entire language and we’re nowhere near that. [ASL] is more than just words and phrases, and we know that. It has complex grammar structures. What we eventually want to get is for SignAloud to categorize a majority of the language," says Azodi.
The two creators, Azodi and fellow sophomore Thomas Pryor, planned and built SignAloud in their dorms and the school’s CoMotion MakerSpace. After a rough first version built on cardboard and string, they put together the current working prototype for about a hundred bucks in parts.
"Many of the sign language translation devices already out there are not practical for everyday use. Some use video input, while others have sensors that cover the user’s entire arm or body," says Pryor in a UW press release.
Innovating past existing limitations is what earned the team the $10,000 award, which Azodi isn’t sure how they will spend. The money could help pay their tuition or perhaps even get them a nice dinner, Azodi jokes, but refining their gadget is top priority. Both are motivated by SignAloud’s possibilities, both as an input device and an empowerment tool... Read The Full Story.

Parental guidance is advised, The content may contain R-rated material, nudity and profanity not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.
The funny humor hidden camera prank clips - Naked & Funny is a TV series from Ukraine featuring candid hidden camera sketches. They usually include public unexpected softcore porn and/or exhibitionism. The series is broadcast on TV channels in several other countries.
There are two types of sketches. The more common is an attractive woman or sexually awkward person appears and people's reactions are filmed. The other variant is where a prank is played on an unsuspecting person.
Although they are recorded in Ukraine with ordinary people, signs are in English (obviously to facilitate international distribution of the episodes) which reduces the credibility that the presented situations are real and raises suspicions that they are fake.
