The Super Bowl may be over, but we're just now getting to our favorite football event of the year: the NFL Bad Lip Reading.

The Bad Lip Reading YouTube channel excels at making it seem like real people are saying the darndest things, and the channel has been uploading NFL Bad Lip Readings since 2013.

This year's montage gives us New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady saying, "I hate cats. Why they gotta pee in the little tub?" And if that alone doesn't sell you, you can also watch a referee say, "Your face is a face I've been avoiding for seven years. If I have to look back at it, I'll break down for sure."

Thankfully, coaches and fans are not immune from the Bad Lip Reading treatment. And don't worry, there are plenty of highlights of Super Bowl champ Patrick Mahomes, even if they're not the kind we're used to seeing him in.

Super Bowl ASL Artist Condemns Fox Sports

ASL performer Christine Sun Kim slams Fox Sports for omitting portion of her sign language anthem at Super Bowl LIV.

MIAMI -- "Why have a sign language performance that is not accessible to anyone who would like to see it?" Christine Sun Kim wrote in an impassioned op-ed.

Christine Sun Kim is speaking out after feeling snubbed during her American Sign Language (ASL) performance of the National Anthem and “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl LIV on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Florida.

In an opinion piece published by The New York Times on Monday, the 40-year-old performer, known professionally as Ms. Kim, shared an impassioned message about the discrimination she felt directed her way on game day.

“As a child of immigrants, a grandchild of refugees, a Deaf women of color, an artist and a mother, I was proud to perform the national anthem and ‘America the Beautiful’ in American Sign Language at the opening of the Super Bowl on Sunday,” she wrote.

“On what was supposed to be a ‘bonus feed’ dedicated to my full performance on the Fox Sports website, the cameras cut away to show close-ups of the players roughly midway through each song,” she wrote.

“Why have a sign language performance that is not accessible to anyone who would like to see it? It’s 2020,” she continued.

Fox Sports did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE.

Marlee Matlin, an actress who is Deaf and “has signed the anthem at three Super Bowls (in 1993, 2007 and 2016),” rallied behind Kim by sharing a video of her own on Twitter during the game.

“I thought the same. I was looking forward to watching that signing. Very disappointing!” one person responded. “Yes! I was disappointed they didn’t show her beautiful work throughout the whole song,” another added.

“You are a tireless advocate for equity [sic] and I applaud you for calling them out on this!!!!” a third person wrote.

One Twitter user called for action to be taken, writing: “Let’s take this one step further by recommending them that the ASL signer should be side by side with the other performer.”

Throughout Kim’s emotional op-ed, she expressed the hurt she felt following her performance.

“Being Deaf in America has always been political, and I needed to process some internal conflict before accepting,” she wrote. “I knew that some musical artists had refused opportunities to perform at the game last year in support of Colin Kaepernick. MIAMI GARDENS, Florida -- While Demi Lovato earned high praise for her national anthem rendition at Super Bowl LIV Sunday, some eyes were elsewhere, as Deaf artist, Christine Sun Kim gave us a passionate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation of the song at Hard Rock Stadium.

Christine Sun Kim performed both “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” during the broadcast of the 100th annual Super Bowl.

She not only demonstrated the words in ASL, but did an interpretive dance along with it before the San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs championship game kicked off. Many Twitter users commented on how entertaining and charismatic the performance was.

Demi Lovato did an amazing job singing the National Anthem for the super bowl. Wish they would show the ASL interpreter the whole time though.

Sun Kim’s drawings have been featured at the 79th Whitney Biennial, and many of her pieces demonstrate what life is like living with deafness. Her performance was part of the NFL’s collaboration with the National Association of the Deaf.

The 39-year-old Berlin-based American artist told Artnews News she was “a bit stunned” to even be considered as a Super Bowl performer, but decided to accept because “representation matters a great deal to me, and I hope that seeing a Deaf person signing the anthem will bring attention to various issues that plague our community.” Video credit: NADVlogs on https://youtube.com/nadvlogs.

Super Bowl LIII Deaf National Anthem Signer

This sign language performance was cut from the Super Bowl broadcast. It’s now been viewed online more than 1 million times.

ATLANTA, Georgia -- Super Bowl LIII - Mercedes-Benz Stadium: The rousing patriotic songs “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” performed before Sunday’s Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Georgia were cheered by the pumped-up crowd in the stadium and seen in homes around the world.

But what the television audience did not see was another performance happening right next to the singers on the field - D.C. resident Aarron Loggins doing a theatrical, and quickly viral, sign-language interpretation of the songs.

A video of his performance, posted by the National Association of the Deaf on Facebook, has been viewed more than 1 million times and shared by more than 23,000 people. Many of them gushed over Loggins, who is Deaf.

Loggins, 34 - a dancer, performer and graduate of Gallaudet University - was selected to do an American Sign Language performance of the two songs by the National Football League and the National Association of the Deaf. His performance included sweeping gestures and rhythmic swaying as Gladys Knight belted out “The Star-Spangled Banner” and the sister duo Chloe X Halle gave a soulful, harmonized rendition of “America the Beautiful.”

Some people on social media were not happy that Loggins’s act was cut out of prime time. He was shown for a flash at the end of “America the Beautiful.”

Loggins, who was named Mister Deaf International in 2014, said he was proud of how he performed.

He said that although he is Deaf, he was able to synchronize his performance with the singers by using an interpreter who gave him cues about whether the singers drew out certain words in the songs. He also said there was a rehearsal with the singers that helped him prepare.

“I rehearsed and came fully prepared to give my best rendition using all of my theatrical and emotional skills,” Loggins said in an email interview with The Washington Post.

He added: “I am grateful that my delivery has done honor to ASL and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.”

Loggins called the experience of performing at the Super Bowl “amazing," and said that he hopes that the Super Bowl sign-language performances next year will be seen more fully on television, not only in the stadium and on social media.

“The community has shown that they want to see ASL,” he said. “Hopefully, future broadcasts will show more of the ASL performance.”

CBS did not respond to several emails and a phone call requesting comment on the broadcast.

Loggins, who is originally from Illinois, said he is the only Deaf person in his family. He started to sign when he was 3 and said he learned to face adversity at an early age. When he was a child, he was told he would never be able to hold a job because he can’t hear. Now, in addition to being a performer, he is an advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

“I take all such negativity and work hard to change it into positivity by proving myself and proving those naysayers wrong,” he said. “My motto is ‘Believe in yourself,’ which I have used as a mantra in my activism with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children to encourage them to have ambitious goals and strive for them.”

HOUSTON -- Kriston Lee Pumphrey performs National Anthem in American Sign Language with the country superstar Luke Bryan sings the National Anthem and America the Beautiful at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Pumphrey of Michigan has been given the honor to perform the songs in ASL. "I am so excited. It is a huge honor and it is a great opportunity to represent the Deaf community," he says.

Pumphrey, who is biracial and was born Deaf, says life hasn't been easy. He's learned to navigate his way in a judgmental, fast-moving verbal world, and has been able to overcome his disability. He now works as an online anchor for DPAN-TV, a sign language channel which delivers an internet-based news.

Kriston Pumphrey: Super Bowl’s ASL Performer

Royal Oak man to perform Super Bowl LI National Anthem in American Sign Language at Houston's NRG Stadium.

ROYAL OAK, MI -- A metro Detroit man is performing at the Big Game - but he won't be singing, he will be signing. Kriston Lee Pumphrey is set to take the stage in Houston at one of the most watched events in America on February 5.

"To be a part of something that 100 million people watch is amazing and nerve-racking at the same time," Pumphrey said with a sign language interpreter. While country superstar Luke Bryan sings the National Anthem and America the Beautiful, Pumphrey has been given the honor to perform the songs in American Sign Language.

"I am so excited. It is a huge honor and it is a great opportunity to represent my community," he says.

With the help of an interpreter, Pumphrey, who is biracial and was born Deaf, says life hasn't been easy. He's learned to navigate his way in a judgmental, fast-moving verbal world, and has been able to overcome his disability. He now works as an online anchor for DPAN-TV, a sign language channel which delivers an internet-based news program.

"One of the reasons why DPAN-TV was established is because we feel Deaf people should have access to information. People don't realize the Deaf community misses out on a lot of things going on in the world and in the news. And, to be on a national stage, this is a huge deal for us," Pumphrey says.

It's also a huge deal for his boss, Sean Forbes, a Deaf rapper who is the cofounder of DPAN-TV.

"Myself and the whole staff at DPAN-TV, is so thrilled for him because we know that he is a skilled performer," Forbes says. "We know he has capabilities to stand in front of millions of people watching him on TV. We couldn't be more excited."

Although grateful for the opportunity, both Forbes and Pumphrey are hoping this year is different and the Deaf are given even more access to the national stage.

"In the past they have only shown a few seconds of the sign language, hopefully they will show more of it," Pumphrey says.

Marlee Matlin Signs The Anthem at Super Bowl

Marlee Matlin was chosen to sign the national anthem at Super Bowl 50 for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- Academy Award-winning actress Marlee Matlin joined Lady Gaga to perform the anthem in American Sign Language at Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, USA.

Marked the third time actress Marlee Matlin performed the anthem in American sign language, having also done so before Super Bowl XVII alongside Garth Brooks and again before Super Bowl XLI alongside Billy Joel.

While Lady Gaga sang the national anthem Sunday night just prior to kickoff for Super Bowl 50, actress and activist Marlee Matlin signed the National Anthem for the crowd. But, strangely enough, she was barely shown by cameras. This is the second time that Matlin signed for the Super Bowl, which is super cool, but it just would've been nice to see more of her. Because she was, you know, signing for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people unable to hear the anthem.

Matlin appeared in the TV series ‘Switched at Birth’, but she is also well known for her role in The L Word. Matlin lost most of her hearing when she was 18 months old, according to IMDb. Matlin participates in a number of volunteer and service activities, but, most notably, she was instrumental in passing legislation that requires all televisions made in the U.S. to be equipped with Closed Caption technology for Deaf people, according to Look to the Stars.

Matlin also signed the "Star Spangled Banner" before Super Bowl XLI in Miami, which was between the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears, according to Hollywood Life. Often, at major sporting events, the person signing the national anthem will be shown in the corner of the screen, so that those with hearing loss can follow along easily. But that didn't happen during Super Bowl 50, and many Twitter users thought that briefly flashing Matlin while she signed was an empty gesture to include the hearing-impaired on behalf of CBS.

Deaf Seahawks Inspires Young Deaf Twins

FLANDERS, New Jersey -- Nine-year-old twins Riley and Erin Kovalcik were born with a genetic condition that left them partially Deaf. Last week, they saw a TV commercial featuring the Seattle Seahawks’ Derrick Coleman.

The Seattle Seahawks' Derrick Coleman makes fans' dream come true with tickets to the Super Bowl.

"I thought it was very touching because I didn’t think there was any athlete that actually could play that could be exactly hearing impaired like me and Erin," Riley says. "Like, I mean, seriously!"

"I saw the Duracell battery commercial. I remembered him saying he was bullied, and I was like, 'What? How is he a football player? I mean, he's really strong, but how does he let them bully him?'" Erin says.

Riley herself was picked on in school and was told not to play sports - a warning she ignored. After the Seahawks won last weekend, Riley picked up a pencil.

"Dear my inspiration Derrick Coleman," she says, reading her letter. "I know how you feel. I also have hearing aids. Just try your best. I have faith in you."

Their father Jake tweeted a picture of the letter, hoping Coleman would see it.

"I just wanted him to know how much he's doing for Deaf kids and little kids and all kids with disabilities," Jake says. "It doesn’t matter that you're deaf. It doesn't matter that you may have some other disability. You can be exceptional too."

SEATTLE, Washington -- A television commercial starring Seattle Seahawk’s fullback Derrick Coleman is the latest Internet sensation. Coleman is the only athlete in NFL history to play offense, despite the fact he is legally Deaf.

Now, he’s getting ready to break one more barrier - the Super Bowl.

When the Seahawks take on the San Francisco 49ers, no one will be paying better attention than Coleman. “I have to be aware,” he told CBS News’ Bill Whitaker. “I have to be focused more than everybody else.”

Diagnosed with profound hearing loss, Coleman relies on lip-reading and his own unique way of communicating with the quarterback.

"He knows to look at me if he makes an audible at the line of scrimmage,” said Coleman. “He knows just tell everybody and just turn back at me one more time and he'll tell me the play." It's the way he's always played the game.

When the world tells you "no", you have two options: You can roll over and quit or you can trust your power. Derrick Coleman, running back for the Seattle Seahawks, trusted the power within. He told Whitaker that he’s “capable of doing what everybody else can do,” despite his hearing loss. “You can't use your problem as an excuse,” he said. “Because you use an excuse, you're not going to get to your dream. “

He was taught that philosophy at an early age. To really know Coleman’s story you have to meet the parents, his mother, May Hamlin and father, Derrick Coleman, Sr. "You feel that uncertainty, that fear as a fear as a parent, you know, that, is my child going to be OK," said Coleman, Sr.. His mother told Whitaker that Coleman was “definitely teased, he was bullied” and kids would call him “four-ears."

“My mom always said people who make fun of you and are trying bring you down - they're already down. They're trying to bring you to their level,” said Coleman.

These days Coleman wears a skullcap to keep his hearing aids in place under his helmet, but as a kid, he had to improvise... Read The Full Story:
